Standard CEI 0-16 mandates the use of a Central Plant Controller (CCI) for medium-voltage connected generation plants. This session outlines the regulatory framework, the required technical functions (observability, voltage and frequency regulation, remote disconnection), and practical application cases for designers, installers, and renewable energy producers.
Controllable loads—such as HVAC systems and power factor correction equipment—can also be managed by the CCI if the user deems it beneficial for optimizing plant operation.
